Russian vs. Ukrainian Women: Are There Any Differences?
Most foreigners, when they hear something about Russian and Ukrainian women, hardly differentiate the two. The problem is in the perception of these nations after the collapse of the USSR.
Although the history has changed the flow of events, lots of Westerners still struggle to realize that women in Ukraine and Russia don’t have as much in common as it might seem from the first glance.
In this blog, we are going to look at the main distinctions between Russian and Ukrainian beauties, which are crucial for men who are looking for mail-order brides in Eastern Europe. So, let’s go!
Although both Russian and Ukrainian are the East European languages, they are entirely separate. Yes, there are lots of similarities between them (perhaps, like between Spanish and Italian), but there are lots of inconsistencies too.
For example, they have different lexis even though some words have the same roots. The grammar is also different so are lots of other features. By the way, Ukrainian has more in common with Polish than with Russian language.
Another interesting fact is how Ukrainian and Russian women use their languages. It is noteworthy that almost all Ukrainians can understand Russian (as in the past this country was ruled by Russians). However, practically no Russian can understand or be able to speak Ukrainian.
If you go to Russia, you will hear people speaking Russian, whereas in Ukraine you will encounter both languages. Interestingly, Ukrainians who speak Russian have different, softer accent when compared to the Russian pronunciation.
Ukrainian women tend to be more open-minded than conventional Russian females. The recent political issues in Ukraine have boosted people’s orientation towards Europe and Western standards of living, whereas in Russia people are more closed and focused on their own ideologies.
For this reason, it may seem that Ukrainian women are less xenophobic than Russian ladies. At the same time, Russian girls can be more territorial. All this might be the consequence of the Cold War which started last century and, according to some opinion leaders, is still going on.
Nevertheless, some foreigners may note that both Russian and Ukrainian ladies at times can be cold, aggressive and even rude, but that’s until they see a friend in a passerby.
3. Attitude towards relationship
Ukrainian women might be more independent and ambitious than Russian girls. They are usually more demanding than the latter in a relationship.
However, if you are looking for a conservative wife, it might be a better idea to look for one in Russia. Women in Russia are taught to be more patient and humble in a relationship with men, whereas in Ukraine females are often positioned equally in the marriage and sometimes even jussive (when it comes to family time and budget management).
Overall, both Russian and Ukrainian women make perfect wives, though they are for different types of men. Also, you should consider the fact that not all Ukrainian and Russian girls are the same and round out the stereotypes.
